Daily Itinerary

Day1Hong Kong

Welcome to Hong Kong, a global financial hub buzzing with energy and culture! We’ll meet at 2:00 pm for a short welcome briefing before the city is yours to explore. You might choose to wander through K11 MUSEA, where contemporary art, design and high-end retail blend seamlessly together, or soak up the neon buzz of Nathan Road, one of the city’s most iconic streets and a living snapshot of Hong Kong’s urban rhythm. At 5:00 pm, we regroup at the Avenue of Stars and set off on a harbourfront walk as the afternoon light begins to soften. From here, we board the legendary Star Ferry, gliding across Victoria Harbour just as the sun sinks behind the skyline, casting the city in warm gold before the lights slowly flicker on. On the island side, we continue on foot toward the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, walking alongside the water with uninterrupted views of one of Asia’s most dramatic cityscapes — a moment that perfectly captures Hong Kong at dusk. We end the evening at the much-loved local institution Joy Hing Restaurant, a century-old roast meat shop famous for its signature char siu, often dubbed “Hong Kong’s best.” Dining where locals queue daily, we round off our first day with a meal that’s as authentic as the city itself.

Day2Hong Kong / Shenzhen

In the morning, we take the Peak Tram up to Victoria Peak for sweeping views of Hong Kong. This is the ultimate classroom for understanding a modern metropolis — soaring skyscrapers, winding coastlines, and distant islands combine into a surreal, three-dimensional cityscape. Whether under a clear sky or shrouded in mist, the panorama tells a breathtaking story of the city on a macro scale. At midday, we step into one of Hong Kong’s oldest neighborhoods, Sham Shui Po, to experience another side of the city. Here, there are no flashy facades — just the authentic soul of Hong Kong. We’ll sample Cheong Fun with Mixed Sauces — silky rice rolls drizzled with a secret blend of sweet sauce, sesame, and peanut paste — a street-food classic of Hong Kong’s sauce culture. We’ll also try Baked Egg & Beef Sandwiches, a tea-house original bursting with local flavor. In the evening, we board the high-speed train to Shenzhen. Day3Shenzhen

Today’s journey will offer a firsthand look at Shenzhen’s extraordinary rise — from a fishing village to a blueprint for the future in just four decades. This morning, we take a leisurely walk through Shenzhen Bay Talent Park, where shimmering waters mirror a futuristic skyline shaped by global headquarters and innovation giants. This striking setting highlights Shenzhen’s bold approach to urban planning — placing public space and open horizons at the heart of the city. At lunchtime, we dive headfirst into a local Chaoshan-style dai pai dong, where the atmosphere is as bold as the flavors. Amid the lively buzz, we sample crispy oyster omelettes, rich braised platters, and soul-awakening marinated raw prawns — an eye-opening introduction to one of southern China’s most distinctive food cultures. In the afternoon, we head skyward to the top of Ping An Finance Centre. From nearly 547 metres above the ground, we take in a sweeping, bird’s-eye view of Shenzhen’s dense forest of skyscrapers — a striking perspective that reveals the city’s ambition, scale and relentless momentum. Day4Shenzhen / Guangzhou

Today, we arrive in Guangzhou, the starting point of modern China’s opening to the world. A short high-speed train ride from Shenzhen — just 30 minutes — brings us to this historic city. At lunchtime, we step into Tao Tao Ju, one of Guangzhou’s most authentic tea houses with over 140 years of history, for a taste of tradition. Over a pot of fragrant tea and a few dim sum dishes, you’ll experience the unhurried philosophy of “yum cha,” the classic Cantonese morning ritual, and feel time slow down between sip and bite. After lunch, we head to the crown jewel of Lingnan architecture – Chen Clan Ancestral Hall. Step inside and be instantly struck by the famed “Three Masterpieces of Lingnan Art”: intricately carved wood, vivid brick reliefs and brilliantly glazed ceramic sculptures. Every roof ridge, screen and doorway tells a story of myth, folklore and auspicious symbolism. More than a clan hall, this is an open-air encyclopedia of traditional craftsmanship. A short walk takes us from Chen Clan Ancestral Hall to everyday poetry at Lychee Bay. Here, you’re free to explore at your own pace – wander along the waterways, spot traditional tong-lau houses, blue-brick lanes and small arched bridges, and feel the rhythm of old Guangzhou’s water-based way of life.

Day5 Guangzhou

Start your morning with a local breakfast – any congee shop, noodle house, or tea café packed with locals will do. Afterward, wander freely: explore a lively wet market, a tree-lined old street, or a quirky café. The true spirit of Guangzhou is found in these spontaneous, everyday moments. Save a spot for lunch at Bingsheng, a Michelin-recommended Cantonese restaurant. More than just a meal, it’s a temple of modern Cantonese culinary artistry. Start with the “secret black char siu,” perfectly balanced between fat and lean and melting in your mouth, followed by the “crispy pineapple bun,” delicate, flaky, and layered like fine paper. In the afternoon, head to Huacheng Square, the beating heart of modern Guangzhou. Step into the Guangdong Museum, shaped like a giant lacquered box. Inside, it’s a treasure trove of Lingnan history, and its awe-inspiring dinosaur skeletons and dazzling gem collections are a visual spectacle in themselves. Outside the museum, you’ll find yourself in an open-air gallery of contemporary architecture. The Guangzhou Library rises like stacked books, while the Guangzhou Opera House curves like river-smoothed pebbles. Slow down and watch the sunlight dance across these masterpieces. As evening falls, the magic begins. The sunset’s glow mingles with the city lights, and you’ll witness Guangzhou’s skyline transform from clear daytime outlines into a sparkling river of stars.

At midday, we sit down to a comforting Shunde-style congee hotpot, dining at a private local restaurant where silky rice porridge gently cooks fresh meats and seafood, revealing the pure, delicate flavours that underpin the saying “Eat in Guangdong, cook in Fengcheng.” In the afternoon, we slow our pace at Qinghui Garden, one of Lingnan’s four great classical gardens, wandering among elegant pavilions, shaded trees and tranquil waterways that seem to hold time still. We then stroll over to Huagai Road Pedestrian Street, exploring the arcaded old streets at leisure before settling into a time-honoured dessert shop to finish with a bowl of silky double-skin milk pudding or warming ginger milk—bringing a sweet close to a day that blends martial spirit, refined culture and everyday Cantonese life in Foshan.
